Our Governing Board
Our board work together to “Think and Plan” for our Centre. They do this by working in close partnership with our day-to-day Management Team; the management team then “Reflect and Act” on behalf of the board.
We do this by supporting each other as we work on the following topics each year:
Strategic and Annual Planning
Policy Development
Legal Responsibilities
Financial Planning
Human Resource Management
Future Direction
Strategic Goals for the 2024 - 2025 year:
Upskill kaiako in the use of te reo and developing knowledge and understanding of tikanga practices and the cultural narrative of the district.
Review our assessment, planning and evaluation process that ensures learning outcomes identify children’s learning progression over time.
Upskill kaiako in knowledge and understanding of using the principles, strands, goals and learning outcomes of TW.
Develop a skilled & cohesive team dedicated to excellence.
Building & sustaining high trust relationships
Establish accountability systems between management and governance
“It takes a large group of people to effectively operate a community-based early childhood service. It is therefore important that we not only have a team of great staff, but that members of our community join our Board also. ”
